What is acupuncture?

We specialize in acupuncture therapy, which involves the gentle insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the flow of vital energy (qi) and restore balance.

Why choose acupuncture?

Acupuncture is commonly used to alleviate pain, reduce stress, support overall well-being, and address various health conditions.

What does it feel like? Does it hurt?

Acupuncture is generally not painful, though the experience can vary from person to person. When the needles are inserted, some people feel a quick, mild prick or slight pinch, but often the sensation is barely noticeable due to the thinness of the needles. Once they are in place, you may feel a tingling sensation, warmth, or pressure around the area, which is usually described as soothing rather than uncomfortable. In some cases, people experience a feeling of heaviness, mild throbbing, or numbness near the needle site, which is often considered a sign that the energy, or “Qi,” is being activated.
Many people find acupuncture relaxing, with some even drifting off to sleep during the session. If it becomes uncomfortable at any point, the practitioner can adjust the needles to ensure you're comfortable. The overall experience should be more calming than painful.

Is all acupuncture the same?
There are various styles of acupuncture, and the approach can differ depending on the practitioner. Some use more traditional techniques, while others may incorporate modern methods or a gentler touch. The style and experience can vary greatly from one practitioner to another.Learn more about the various types of acupuncture and their benefits below, and for details on cosmetic acupuncture, click here.

Our approach
Traditional acupuncture

This is the most commonly practiced form, where thin needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points on the body.
Dao needling

This technique targets specific points, known as trigger points, which are tender areas in the muscles associated with pain and tension. Needles are inserted directly into these trigger points to relieve muscle tightness and discomfort.
Scalp acupuncture

This technique involves needling specific points on the scalp, often used for neurological conditions, stroke rehabilitation, and pain relief.
Electroacupuncture

In this technique, a small electric current is passed through the needles to enhance the therapeutic effect. It is often used for pain relief and muscle relaxation.
Auricular acupuncture

This approach focuses on the stimulation of acupuncture points on the ear. It is commonly used for addiction treatment, pain management, and mental health issues.
Korean hand acupuncture

This microsystem utilizes the hand as a complete map of the body, where specific points on the hand correspond to different organs and systems. It is often used for pain relief and internal medicine treatments.
